Oladepo, Oyegbile leads Osun delegates to 15th National Council on Environment

The Gboyega Oyetola led administration would continue to strive to ensure clean and healthier environment through sustainable environmental planning, Oladepo remarked at the ongoing meeting of the National Council on Environment taking place at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

The 2021 National Council on Environment is the 15th edition of the Council themed ‘Appraisal of the Emerging challenges and opportunities in the Environment Sector: A call for action towards the Environment of our dream'.

The National Council on Environment is Nigeria's highest policy-making body on the environment sector which facilitates intergovernmental deliberations and guides consultation on environment issues at all levels of government.

Recall that this year's World Environment Day celebration was for the first time in history held outside the nation's capital, making the State of Osun the host in acknowledgement of the sterling performance of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the areas of flood control, climate change, afforestation of Shasha Forest Reserve in Ife Ife, waste management amongst other environmental challenges affecting the State.

In Abuja for the 15th meeting of the National Council on Environment, the State of Osun representatives is led by the Commissioner for Environment & Sanitation, Hon Sola Oladepo and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Rufus Oyegbile.

Others are the technical team of the Osun State Ministry of Environment & Sanitation headed by the Ministry's Coordinating Director, Mr. RO. Yusuf, the General Manager of the Osun State Waste Management Agency, Alh. Fatai Oyewole, Director for Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Johnson Adegoke, the Director Flood Control and Engeering Services, Engr. Tunde Odesanmi, Director for Forestry, Mr. Omotade Ilesanmi, among others.
