OSUN EDUCATION SECTOR UNDER GOVERNOR ADEGBOYEGA OYETOLA LED ADMINISTRATION By - IleriOluwa New Media Team
The achievements of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola about 3years in office on the Education sector in the State of Osun under the supervision of Commissioner for Education Hon. Oladoyin Bamisayemi and Special Adviser Hon. Jamiu Olawunmi.

To contribute to the development of the education sector, and based on popular demand, Osun Government embarked on the re-engineering of the existing policy of and formulation of new strategic policy Initiatives towards achieving the sector's objective under the Osun Development Plan.
In specific terms, Government has succeeded in carrying out the following:
1. Popular among the policies re-engineering are the restoration of nomenclatures and reversal from 4-5-3 to 6-3-3-4 system in tandem with the National Policy on Education.
2. Return of Schools to their previous status so as to reflect the age long tradition of schools in the State.
3. Abolishment of Single Uniform Policy.
4. Establishment of Osun Schools' Management Commission.
5. Repair and maintenance of schools in order to arrest their deterioration.
6. Establishment of the Osun Education Development Fund.
7. Renovation and revitalization of offices of ZIEs/LIEs for effective monitoring and Purchase of 6 operational Hilux vehicles for ZIEs/ LIEs
8. Purchase of Instructional Materials and Secince Laboratory Equipment.
9. Purchase of Furniture for leaners and teachers
10. Renovation of 30 High School ls across the state at ratio of one per LGA.
11. O' Meal feeding to Primary 1-4 in the State, leading to increase in public school enrolment.
12. Procurement and distribution of science equipment and materials to secondary school in the State.
13. Presentation of Award to the best student in the State who eventually won the 4th edition of the 2019 Young Scientists Presidential Award in Abuja on Monday, 16th March, 2020.
14. To enhance quality of teaching and learning, the State has embarked on the recruitment of 2,500 new teachers for the both primary and secondary schools.
15. Building of new schools and rehabilitation of existing ones.
16. Policy formulation focusing on controlling Examination malpractices.
17. Resuscitation of Lagbo Eto Eko Programme on Radio and TV for enlightenment purpose.
18. Resuscitation of Early Childhood Care Development Education to improve school enrolments.
19. Periodic training for teachers to improve Service delivery.
20. Establishment of Talent Hurnt and Development Activities.
21. Establishment of Computer- based Test Center in each of the six (6) Administrative Zones for examination purposes.
22. Introduction of Osun State Annual Education Conference.
23. Constitution of Parent Forum and Board of Governors in schools as part of the strategic steps required for the improvement of Education and line with the State Policy on Responsible parenting.
24. Introduction of Light Vocational Training domiciled in the schools for Senior Secondary Schools.
25. Constitution of Governing councils for state- owned tertiary institutions.
26. Organisation of state- wide Essay competition among Secondary School students on topic "Osun State of My Dream" to commemorate the 66th Birthday of the Governor.
27. Scholarship and other assistance for three hundred (300) brilliant indigent students in the year 2020.
28. Resuscitation of Guidance and counseling units in schools to reduce aggressive behavior and indiscipline.

1. Construction of 37 blocks of 202 classroom to accommodate 10,150 students/pupils/teachers in 37 schools.
2. Repair/ renovation works at 32 Government elementary schools.
3. Procurement and supply of 6220 units of pupils furniture for 12,440 pupils/students.
4. Procurement and supply of 967 teachers furniture for 967 teachers
5. Constitution of 57 units of 6 holes squatting toilets with deep well for 57 schools across the state.
6. Drilling and reticulation of borehole at 9 public schools.
7. Construction of perimeter fence in 30 schools to avoid encroachment and provide security for pupils/ students and government properties.
8. Distribution of sporting materials to schools
9. Organisation of Asa Day Festival at Osogbo Grammar School as well as other public school across the State for the promotion of rich cultural heritage among pupils.
10. Distribution of Instructional Materials to public primary schools across the state.
11. Training of 1,620 teacher for effective teaching and learning.
12. Distribution of Covid-19 preventive materials to pupils and teachers in public primary schools.
13. Training workshop for teachers on preventive measure against Covid-19 Pandemic.
14. Provision of furniture to schools.
