Yesterday, I was joined by the State Commissioner for Agriculture, the Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture, Community leaders, major stakeholders and farmers to flag off the free distribution of 20,000 new hybrid cocoa seedlings ( "koko Ola") in my constituency.

Under this new pet project, I plan to train and empower farmers to boost cocoa farming in my constituency by providing about 100,000 new hybrid cocoa seedlings over the next four (4) years. At a conservative estimate of 1,000 trees per hectare, we would have succeeded in adding/regrowing about 100 hectares of new cocoa within the next 48months.

The "Koko Ola" initiative is a wealth creation and economic emancipation project for our people and a pragmatic economic diversification and booster for our constituency and dear state.

We will not be in public office forever, but we will constantly strive to make impacts that will outlive us in office and even life.

Experts say the improved cocoa trees can live for a 100 years and fruit for between 60 and 70 years. We don't just want to focus on providing solutions for today, we also want to build legacies.

To God be the glory!
